A woman has been arrested after police found a blue rubber Kolema full of substances suspected to be drugs at the Peace Market Lorry Park in Freetown.
The woman is Bintu Joe, of Cole Street, Yellow Mosque in Waterloo. Police attached to the Ross Road Harbour Division arrested her on Thursday, 24 September 2026.
According to the police, they received information that the woman was in possession of suspected drugs. When they searched the Kolema she had with her at the Lorry Park, they found large quantities of different substances.
Police said the substances included brands labelled Mark 300, 250 and 255, some believed to be Tramadol, and others believed to be Kush.
Police said the arrest was successful because of their previous engagement with traders and drivers at Peace Market Lorry Park. They had earlier told the community not to condone criminal activities and to report suspicious people to the police.
The Sierra Leone Police is encouraging the public to continue working with them to fight crime.
The matter is under investigation.
