A tragic road accident along the Kabala–Freetown highway in Koinadugu District has left at least 12 people dead and several others injured, sending shockwaves through the community. Reports indicate that the bus, transporting passengers from Kabala to Freetown, lost control near the SSS Curve in the early hours of the morning and reportedly somersaulted twice, creating a scene of devastation.
Eyewitnesses described the aftermath as horrifying, with passengers trapped inside the wreckage and others thrown onto the roadside. Many of the injured were immediately rushed to nearby medical facilities for urgent treatment, while rescue teams worked tirelessly to recover victims from the scene.

Authorities have yet to release a final confirmation of the total number of casualties and have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. Officials have urged drivers to exercise extreme caution, particularly on dangerous and winding roads like the SSS Curve, which has been the site of previous accidents.
Local residents, families, and friends are mourning the loss of their loved ones, and communities have been left grappling with the trauma of the tragedy. Thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and all those affected. This incident underscores the urgent need for road safety awareness and stricter enforcement of transport regulations.
