The High Court in Freetown has kept its ban on the All People’s Congress (APC) executive from carrying out most party activities.
Justice Fisher delivered the ruling after Lawyer Sesay filed an application.
The judge upheld the existing restrictions that stop the party from doing the bulk of its normal work. At the same time, he allowed only limited exceptions. The Secretary General and Chairman can still handle a few basic administrative tasks, including signing for workers’ salaries and assisting with some internal electoral matters.
Justice Fisher made it clear that the main ban stays firmly in place. He warned strongly that no one should claim to speak or act as a member of the APC executive on radio or in public.
“Anyone can speak for himself, but not for the APC,” the judge said. He added that anyone who breaks the order risks contempt of court proceedings.
The case has been adjourned until October 2026.
This ruling continues the period of tight court control over the main opposition party’s leadership, which started after earlier High Court orders restricted senior officials from fully performing their roles amid disputes over tenure and internal party management.
