Foreign Affairs Ministry Launches investigation Into Alleged Misuse of Official Documents for Visa
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, MFAIC, has launched an internal investigation into allegations that official ministry documents were misused in a visa application to a diplomatic mission.
In a press release issued on Friday, 5 September 2026, the Ministry confirmed it received a formal complaint on the matter. It also noted other related concerns raised publicly in recent days.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has established an internal committee to urgently investigate the allegations.
According to the Ministry, the committee will review relevant documentation and procedures, determine the facts, and report its findings and recommendations.
The review will also assess current processes for preparing, authorising, and transmitting official correspondence, including visa requests. The goal, the Ministry said, is to strengthen institutional controls where needed.
The MFAIC said it takes the allegations seriously and assured the public that any unauthorized use or breach of procedure, if confirmed, will be dealt with through appropriate administrative or legal action.
“The matter will be handled promptly, with respect for due process and without prejudice to the outcome of the investigation,” the release stated.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and institutional responsibility.
