Chief Minister, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh has shut down talk that he is already eyeing the SLPP flagbearer position. He says his only focus right now is helping President Julius Maada Bio and making sure the government delivers for the people.
Speaking on AYV’s State of the Nation, Sengeh made it plain, “What keeps me going every day is how I can serve President Bio, how we can deliver for the people of this country, and how we can make life better for you and your loved ones in any way whatsoever.”
He repeated that his mind is on the President and the work of the SLPP government, not on any personal ambition. “My primary focus at this minute is President Bio, to make sure the SLPP continues to do well and the government delivers for the people,” he said.
Sengeh also called on party members and citizens to come together. He said if people work as one, believe in radical inclusion, and put their hands together, the government will succeed for President Bio.
He spoke warmly about the President, calling him his mentor, leader, friend, and father figure.
Talk about who will lead the SLPP after President Bio has been growing, especially with the 2028 elections in view. Some people have put Sengeh’s name in the mix, but he is drawing a clear line: for now, his job is to support the President, strengthen the party, and help the government do its work for Sierra Leoneans.
