The All Peoples Congress (APC) will conduct its outstanding Constituency 044 election on Wednesday, 7th October, 2026, at its Bombali Regional Office in Makeni, the party’s National Secretariat has announced.
In a public notice issued on 3rd October 2026, the Secretariat said the decision was taken after “serious discussions and consultations” with the party’s Independent Elections Management Committee (IEMC).
According to the notice, the IEMC proposed the Bombali Regional Office in Makeni as the venue where it considers the election can be held in a “secure, orderly, free, and fair environment.”
The Secretariat said the IEMC has already consulted the parties directly involved in Constituency 044, particularly the contestants, and that all concerned have agreed to move the election to Makeni.
Constituency 044 is one of the constituencies in the northern region where the APC has been conducting its lower-level elections ahead of its national delegates conference. The constituency elections have been marred in some areas by disputes, violence and allegations of intimidation.
The National Secretariat said it has taken particular notice of the need to ensure that the poll is conducted in an atmosphere “free from violence, intimidation, threats, disruption, or any other conduct capable of undermining the integrity and peaceful conduct of the electoral process.”
All aspirants, delegates, party officials, election officials and other stakeholders concerned have been asked to assemble at the designated venue on the stated date and to cooperate fully with the IEMC and security personnel.
The Secretariat also appealed to candidates and their supporters to exercise restraint.
“We particularly call upon all candidates and their supporters to exercise restraint and responsibility and to ensure that the election proceeds peacefully and without intimidation, violence, or interference,” the notice stated.
The party said the cooperation of everyone concerned is essential to achieving a “seamless, transparent, free, and fair electoral process.”
