A house fire in the New Site community of Waterloo, Western Area Rural District, has killed three children early this morning.
The fire started around 3 a.m. while most people were still asleep. Neighbours say the flames spread fast and the whole place was in panic as people tried to help.
The children’s parents managed to get out but were badly hurt. They are now in hospital getting treatment.
Police and the National Fire Force came to the scene. So far, no one knows what started the fire. Investigations are still going on.
This kind of tragedy has happened before in the Waterloo area. Many people live close together, water is not always easy to get quickly, and it can take time for emergency help to arrive. These problems make fires harder to control.
More information will come as the investigation continues.
