Judiciary Communications, 16th December 2024: President Julius Maada Bio has appointed Honourable Justice Komba Kamanda as Chief Justice of Sierra Leone. Recruited to the Judiciary in November 2005, Justice Kamanda has extensive experience, having served as a Magistrate, High Court Judge, and Justice of the Court of Appeal.
A graduate of Fourah Bay College and the University of Sierra Leone with a Master of Laws from Salford University, Justice Kamanda has a solid academic background. He has served across various Judicial Districts, holding key roles in case management and the creation of regulations for bail and sentencing.
Justice Kamanda’s dedication to judicial service has earned him awards, including a Certificate of Recognition from the Judiciary of Sierra Leone in December 2016.
