In a significant move to address the escalating public health crisis of drug abuse, the KOMON TOK PLATFORM has officially launched its nationwide Anti-Kush Campaign, commencing in the Wellington community of Freetown. Under the resonant theme, “There Is Hope for Kush Victims,” the initiative marks a critical step towards healing and empowerment.
KOMON TOK PLATFORM, a leading online media group dedicated to empowering Sierra Leoneans and Africans, is channeling its influence into direct action against the devastating spread of kush, a dangerous substance crippling the nation’s youth.
Spearheaded by its visionary CEO, Mr. Mohamed Kaargbo, the campaign is built on a three-pillar approach: to educate young people on the severe dangers of kush, support victims on their path to recovery, and empower communities to lead the fight against addiction.
The Wellington launch united a broad coalition of stakeholders, including security personnel, political and youth leaders, businesswomen, bike riders, and religious figures, all pledging their unwavering commitment to a drug-free Sierra Leone.
In a powerful act of immediate intervention, the platform has enrolled 50 kush addicts from the Wellington community to receive comprehensive support, including free medical treatment, counseling, and rehabilitation services.
This launch in Wellington is just the beginning. The Anti-Kush Campaign is set to expand to communities across Sierra Leone as KOMON TOK PLATFORM intensifies its national outreach.
KOMON TOK PLATFORM urgently calls on all Sierra Leoneans, development partners, and concerned citizens to join this vital movement. Together, we can curb the scourge of drug abuse and reclaim the future of our nation
